We know by now a poetry in one eye.
Metaphor is ear by Wallace Stevens.
We know difference that is not there
To our serenity to know a difference.
Parts of metaphor are reality in idea.
It is no more a reality we can change.
We are all eye to viewing a serenity
Serenity we owe to our final bodies.
(remembering Wallace Stevens poem Thinking of a Relation between the Images of Metaphors, from Transport to Summer, 1947)
