Looking down

From a fire island the sun reads
Poet’s poems ,embraces his sky.

But the poet squints at that sun.
Looking up causes such a sprain.

You may look down more often
At earth, where poems are dust.

(reading O’Hara’s poem A True Account of Talking To The Sun on Fire Island)
